The Green Company
The Green Company has been creating distinctive residential communities for over 50 years. The company’s roots go back to the early 1900s when Green Brothers Realty began investing in real estate. The company soon would build its first homes in Marlborough and Northborough, MA.
Alan J. Green founded the first Green Company company in the early 1960s, building Great Harbors in Falmouth, MA, a community of single-family homes organized around a waterfront recreational area.

The first such communities were Falmouthport and Treetops, both in Falmouth on Cape Cod. In the early 1980s, The Green Company began building in Boston’s suburbs with The Gables in Newton; The Meadows in Hingham; both Glen Oak and The Hills at Mainstone in Wayland; and The Ledges in Winchester.
Through the economic cycles of the ‘80s and into the early 1990s, The Green Company was called upon to strategically evaluate and then successfully reposition troubled properties for leading regional financial institutions, including Bank Boston (now FleetBoston), Chase Manhattan, and Mutual of New York (MONY).
Also in the past decade, The Green Company completed Kings Way in Yarmouthport, Wentworth by the Sea in New Hampshire, Farlow Hill on the Newton/Boston line, The Glen at Chestnut Hill in Chestnut Hill, Forest Edge at The Pinehills in Plymouth, and Springhouse Pond in Sudbury.
Currently, The Green Company is building at Winslowe's View, Rebecca's Landing and The Greens, all at The Pinehills in Plymouth, MA. Their newest neighborhood at The Pinehills, Greengate, will open at the end of 2012.
